The last time anyone last saw D'wan Sims, the 4-year-old boy who reportedly went missing while shopping with his mother, Dwanna Harris, at Wonderland Mall in Detroit, was on December 11, 1994. But earlier this week, 25 years to the day since Sims initially disappeared, a man who's identified himself on Facebook as Mike Cash, has told the Livonia Police Department that he's the young boy went missing.
Livonia Police Captain Ronald Taig, who was working at the department when the investigation into D'wans' whereabouts first became national news, confirmed that "an individual came in on December 11, which just happened to be the 25th anniversary of D'Wan being missing. He came in and provided a DNA sample." Taig told Local 4 News in Detroit. "I think we're all shocked, absolutely."
While Cash has submitted his DNA to the police for testing, Taig added that he found it a little strange that he posted about the investigation on Facebook. "I guess what's odd is that he claimed that he didn't want any of this information out in the media and from what I understand he has put this out on social media," said Taig.
Cash has since deleted a few of the original posts he posted about the investigation on Facebook, but he left a message up on his timeline that read, "Just got off the phone with Livonia police and they just got my DNA sitting there and ain't even set it off yet. I need a f***ing lawyer man."
Mike Cash Facebook
Taig said D'Wan's mother "did contact and talk to this person and ask him about some personal information that only her and D'Wan Sims would know, like birthmarks," Taig stated. "He wasn't able to answer those questions, along with the date of birth." However sources also told Local 4 that Cash had previously reached out to Dewanna on Facebook, and that she blocked him.
-------------------------
POLICE SAID IT WILL BE 3 TO 4 MONTHS BEFORE DNA RESULTS ARRIVE
The police department still has the DNA samples from D'Wan's father and mother, and will now test Cash's DNA for a match analysis. It is standard procedure for any high profile case for authorities to follow through with these kind of claims.
D'Wan now would be 29. He is still listed as missing on the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children website.
-------------------------
THE INITIAL INVESTIGATION INTO D'WAN'S DISAPPEARANCE FOCUSED ON HIS MOTHER AS A SUSPECT
In 1994, Dwanna Harris told reporters, "The only thing that I want the public to know, is that my only concern is finding my son. Whoever has my baby, I know he's safe, and I know you´re taking good care of him … What I'm hoping is that someone may have ran across my child. We've got your Christmas ready, so, just come home."
However, as investigators poured through surveillance video from Wonderland Mall, while it revealed that Harris was at the mall, D'wan was never seen on camera, which led them to believe her son may not have ever been at the mall in the first place. "We checked everything, and we never saw D'Wan with Ms. Sims," Taig said.
Dwanna hired a criminal defense lawyer but no charges were ever filed. She changed her name and moved to North Carolina. Sergeant Shelley Holloway told the Detroit Free Press that the boy's disappearance still bothered her in 2009.
"We're pretty confident D'Wan never made it to Wonderland Mall," Holloway said, revisiting the case 15 years later. "This time of year is always difficult. It's so close to the time. We're doing the best we can. It's just not a whole lot to say."

CASH LIVES IN DETROIT & IS RAISING A DAUGHTER OF HIS OWN
According to Cash's Facebook page, he continued to live in Detroit after studying college at Central Michigan University. In addition to working for Heavy Load Entertainment, he's also raising a daughter named Mahari.

Lance Bass has come a long way since he was known as a teen heartthrob and a member of NSYNC when the boy band formed in 1995 under the direction of Lou Pearlman.
Bass is now 40 years old and has dreams of starting a family. But the shadow Pearlman left on his career has not completely faded. Bass spoke to ABC _20/20_ about the Ponzi scheme that launched his career in an epsidode called "The Hitman: From Pop to Prison" airing Friday, December 13, 2019 at 9 p.m. EST.
Here's what you need to know:
-------------------------
LANCE BASS IS MARRIED TO MICHAEL TURCHIN & THEY ARE TRYING TO START A FAMILY
Lance Bass and his husband, Michael Turchin, are persevering at their dream to start a family after several failed attempts. Bass told E! News in August 2019 they are hopeful to have twins. At the time, they were on their seventh egg donor and optimistic about a pregnancy.
"We're getting close" he said on the show. "I know we keep saying this every time I come on your show….It's been a process. You know, we went through seven donors, but this seventh one looks like it worked! So, hopefully in the next few weeks I'll be able to announce some nice celebration. They will be here next-I say 'they' because, of course, we're trying to go for twins, but that's, you know, still up in the air. But yeah, so next year, 2020 babies!"
He said he can't wait to be a father and that Turchin "is going to be the best dad."
"I've been ready, are you kidding me?" Bass said of bringing children into his home. "It's been delayed so much. Like, I'm just kind of like itching to be a dad. You know, I'm 40 now. So, I mean, it's time. I've been waiting for this."
The couple is trying to have children though IVF and a surrogate mother.
"It's quite the process" he said. "We had no idea what we were getting into. But it's a beautiful experience. The love that is surrounded with IVF--from the doctors to the surrogate--it's a beautiful gift."
-------------------------
LANCE BASS HAS A NET WORTH OF $22 MILLION & SAYS HE LOST $100 MILLION TO LOU PEARLMAN
Lance Bass has a net worth of $22 million, but it took him much longer to reach financial success than it would have seemed from the success of NSYNC. While the boy band was making Lou Pearlman millions of dollars, he was cutting the members checks that were barely above minimum wage.
He estimated that he lost about $100 million to Pearlman as the group rose to fame.
"You gotta understand, 'N Sync at the time was a billion-dollar business. A billion a year. So, you know, do the math!" Pearlman said during an interview with E! News last year.
The band made $90 million for their "Pop Odyssey Tour", nearly $30 million for the "Celebrity Tour," both tours promoting the 2001 album 'Celebrity.' "No Strings Attached" sold 2.42 million albums in its first week of release.
-------------------------
LANCE BASS IS STILL CONFLICTED OVER THE DEATH OF LOU PEARLMAN
Lance Bass told ABC _20/20_ he had mixed feelings when Lou Pearlman died. Pearlman launched NSYNC, the Backstreet Boys and other boy bands, becoming a mogul of the industry. He brought Bass and others to fame, even while keeping most of their earnings and duping investors. Bass told _20/20_ Pearlman's death in prison meant none of the victims in the $300 million Ponzi scheme received closure.
"I was so confused on exactly how to feel," Bass said. "I'm like, 'How could you die right now when we don't have this closure?"
Pearlman also faced allegations of sexual misconduct against boy band members. The allegations were first detailed in a 2007 Vanity Fair article. Pearlman had denied the allegations.
Pearlman died August 20, 2016. Bass said he credits Pearlman for his career, despite the fraud that funded it.
"There's so many life lessons that you learn from everyone else's mistakes - from your mistakes," Bass said. "He helped start my career. He funded it… I don't know where I'd be without him. So you have to give him that credit."
He expressed similar conflicted emotions on Twitter the day Pearlman died.
"Word is that #LouPearlman has passed away," Bass wrote on Twitter. "He might not have been a stand up businessman, but I wouldn't be doing what I love today wout his influence. RIP Lou."

With the Oakland Raiders set to play their last game in the Coliseum on Sunday, many around the NFL have been asked their thoughts on the historic structure. Even non-Raiders like Bill Belichick have expressed their respect for the team and their fan base. The Raiders aren't going away anytime soon, but it feels like the team is putting the past behind and starting a new era.
San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch spent much of his career terrorizing Raiders offenses when he was a member of the Denver Broncos. Even he couldn't discount the allure of playing for the legendary franchise. He was on KNBR 680 and made a surprising admission.
"Even though I grew up a Charger fan, who really did not like the Raiders, there was a side of every player that says, gosh, it'd be cool to play for the Raiders," said Lynch.
The fact that a person like Lynch, who was born to hate the Raiders, still had that much respect for the team is a testament to their legacy.

JON GRUDEN GETS EMOTIONAL TALKING ABOUT THE BLACK HOLE
Sunday is set to be a very emotional day at the Oakland Coliseum and Raiders head coach Jon Gruden will probably have a hard time holding back the tears.
"I kind of have a lot of history here, and some of my friends, a lot of my friends are in the Black Hole," Gruden said last week, via The Athletic's Vic Tafur. "A lot of my only friends are here. I don't have a lot of friends except the guys in the Black Hole," Gruden continued. "I only get to see them six or seven times. I get emotional talking about it."
Oakland holds a special place in Gruden's heart. It was where he got his first head coaching job and where he got his second chance. He feels a special connection to the fans.
"I can say I've been fortunate to be in some great places, great traditional places like Notre Dame," Gruden said recently. "I grew up at South Bend, and I got a chance to coach for the Philadelphia Eagles, the Green Bay Packers, the 49ers. They all have great fans, but there's something about these people. They're nuts.
"They're the closest thing to me that I've ever seen. We have that in common."
It should be an epic day for the Raiders, but they have one job they need to do before the celebrations can commence.

HOW RAIDERS CAN WIN LAST GAME IN OAKLAND
The Raiders absolutely need to leave Sunday with a win. Taking a loss to a losing team like the Jacksonville Jaguars would leave a very sour taste in the mouths of fans. Fortunately, it's looking like the team will have star running back Josh Jacobs back. The Jaguars have one of the worst run defenses in the NFL. Jacobs should have a field day after taking the last week off.
Jacksonville's pass defense is slightly better thanks to the fact that they have a few really good pass rushers. If the Raiders want to leave Oakland the right way, they need to give the ball to Jacobs and let him lead the team to a victory.

If it seems like the Dallas Cowboys and Dak Prescott hit a brick wall in ongoing contract talks … well, it's because they did.
In a new report filed Friday, Yahoo Sports NFL insider Charles Robinson learned via sources that the sides have made "little contact" since September, when Prescott's camp dug in its heels for a potentially record-smashing pact.
According to Robinson, the Cowboys offered their franchise quarterback a deal similar to the four-year, $128 million extension that Philadelphia's Carson Wentz received this summer. The proposal was rejected — and there's been close to radio silence since.
"If there was any hope there might be a late-season contract extension push between the Dallas Cowboys and quarterback Dak Prescott, let this reality sink in: The two sides haven’t had a productive exchange of proposals since the first month of the season. And the impasse is headed for even choppier waters after he’s hit with a franchise tag," Robinson wrote.
Sources familiar with the talks between Prescott’s camp and the Cowboys said the two sides have had little contact since September, with the last substantive exchange unraveling after Prescott’s camp indicated to the Cowboys that the extension price was increasing as the 2019 season went on. One source confirmed Prescott turned down a preseason offer that would have compared favorably to the Philadelphia Eagles’ Carson Wentz, who signed a four-year extension for $128 million last June. In September, the Los Angeles Rams’ Jared Goff also signed an extension for four years and $134 million."
Prescott preferred to bet on himself, playing out the final year of his rookie contract for a measly $2.025 million. The gamble paid off in a major way as the two-time Pro Bowl passer enjoys a career season. Prescott currently leads the NFL in passing yards (4,122) and, with three games remaining, is on pace to eclipse Tony Romo's single-season passing yards record (4,903) for a Dallas signal-caller.
Robinson previously reported that Prescott was initially low-balled by the Cowboys, who floated a $25 million-per-year proposal to agent Todd France at the onset of talks. This, it appears, was the impetus for the ballyhooed $40 million annual demand that Prescott made, almost in retaliation for his perceived slight.
“Early on in the process what I was told was the reason why there was really some difficulty early in the process was just that Dallas came in low,” Robinson said on the _Boys and Girl Podcast_, via SB Nation’s RJ Ochoa. “I was told flat out Dallas’ first offer on the table was like $25M. Now this was a while ago. But it was low enough at $25M that Todd France, what I was told … I mean he was upset, and he countered with just an astronomical per year figure. Not because that’s what he actually wanted, but he was kind of flipping the bird to the Cowboys. Saying like, ‘Look, we’re not doing this. We’re not starting in the 20s. You can get off that right now.’”
CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora wrote on Dec. 1 that the team has made “no progress” in negotiations with Prescott, as well as fellow impending free agents Amari Cooper and Byron Jones. Per La Canfora, however, “retaining Prescott remains the primary objective of owner Jerry Jones,” who has the franchise tag at his disposal — and will execute it — if a long-term contract cannot be struck.
The Cowboys are projected to wield upwards of $80 million in 2020 salary cap space, more than enough to lock down their in-house priorities. Perhaps at historic clips.

EX-NFL GM PREDICTS ABSURDLY ENORMOUS CONTRACT FOR DAK
Former New York Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum (emphasis on “former”) has issued a mind-blowing projection. Appearing on ESPN Radio on Sunday, Tannenbaum, who also ran the Miami Dolphins’ football operations from 2015-18 and currently works as an analyst for the Worldwide Leader, stated his belief that Prescott will land a staggering $400 million deal — $40 million annually over 10 years — from the Cowboys.
The league’s richest QB, in terms of annual salary, is Seattle’s Russell Wilson, who’s pulling in $35 million per year. In terms of total value, Atlanta QB Matt Ryan holds the top spot, having signed a five-year, $150 million extension in 2018. There’s never been a $200 million deal, let alone $400 million, in the sport’s history.
Tannenbaum has been something of a Dak cheerleader, championing for the fourth-year star to receive his just desserts. During a recent segment on ESPN’s Get Up, he used Prescott’s talk-is-cheap mantra as rationale to reward him.
“Zeke Elliott … you reward the wrong behavior, in my opinion,” Tannenbaum said in a message to Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. “But what [Prescott] just said, that is priceless. You want him to hold everybody else accountable. You pay him first, and everybody else falls in line.”

The Philadelphia Flyers announced the devastating news of Oskar Lindblom's rare cancer diagnosis on Friday, sharing in an official statement that the 23-year-old was found to have Ewing's sarcoma, an extremely rare cancer typically found in the bone, and fans were quick to share their condolences with his longtime girlfriend, Alma Lindqvist.
Lindblom and Lindqvist recently celebrated their two-year anniversary in August, for which the Flyers' forward proudly posted about on Instagram. Sharing with his nearly 18K followers on the social media site he wrote, "Two years with my beautiful woman - love you."
Both originally from Sweden, Lindqvist moved to America to be closer with Lindblom, and the couple has since happily dived into fun American traditions while living stateside. This past year on Halloween, they hilariously dressed up as Swedish pop supergroup ABBA with two of their friends, and the quartet absolutely nailed it.
It's clear that the hockey players was absolutely in with his girlfriend, and he regularly shared his appreciation for Lindqvist's continuous presence in his life. Users online wrote on her most recent Instagram with messages saying, "stay strong for OB! heavy prayers from my family to yours. He will beat this."
Lindqvist, a social media influencer and model, reciprocated the love right back to Lindblom. She shared photos of her boyfriend on Instagram with a mere red-heart emoji as the caption, and on his birthday, referred to him as "the love of my life."
Lindqvist was welcomed like a member of the Lindblom family over the Christmas holidays, joining his parents, younger brother Linus, and Marcus, who also plays hockey. Together, they regularly traveled back forth from Sweden in the NHL offseason, vacationed in Nassau, and visited New York City.
While most of Lindqvist's posts on Instagram are written in Swedish, last year on Christmas, she shared how happy she was to be with Lindblom in English. She captioned the adorable selfie, "Spending my first Christmas away from my family and also the first one in a Christmas sweater. I'm so so thankful and happy to create new traditions and memories with you. Really didn't know what real love was before we met, you're my best friend and the biggest love of my life."
Flyers' General Manager Chuck Fletcher shared that Lindblom "will undergo further testing and evaluation next week and begin treatment immediately thereafter. He is not expected to return to play for the remainder of the season. The Flyers will do everything possible to support Oskar and assist him in securing the best care available."
After being selected by the Flyers in the fifth round (No. 138 overall) in the 2014 NHL Draft, the Swedish hockey player signed a three-year entry-level contract with the franchise in 2017. He was called up to the NHL on February 19, 2018, and recorded his first point on March 17, 2018. The forward scored his first goal as a Flyer the next day while the team played against the Washington Capitals. Lindblom helped his team reach Round 1 of the Stanley Cup playoffs that year.
In 2019, Lindblom is tied with forward Travis Konceny for Flyers' team leader in goals. The rising star has 57 points (30 goals and 27 assists) throughout his three seasons in the NHL thus far.

WEBER STATE VS MONTANA PREVIEW
Each squad had a bye in the first round of the playoffs.
In the second, the Wildcats overcame a 17-12 halftime deficit to best the Kennesaw State Owls 26-20 at home. Weber State went ahead for good when the Owls botched a pitch play on the opening drive of the second half, setting up a 24-yard fumble-return touchdown from Wildcats senior defensive end Adam Rodriguez.
"Fun game," Weber State head coach Jay Hill said, according to the Standard-Examiner. "Kennesaw is one heck of a team, you can see why they've won all the games they've won in the last three years. They're tougher than nails, they're hard to stop. We knew it was going to be that way.
"It makes us tougher, I think. We're battle-tested, which is good."
Weber State visited the Grizzlies back on Nov. 16. Montana pounded the Wildcats 35-16; they led 35-3 heading into the fourth quarter.
"It was our fault," Wildcats senior defensive end Jonah Williams said, per the Standard-Examiner. "We just didn't play to the best of our ability and they did. Everything we saw on film, they did. Now it's just playing to the best of our potential."
Weber State committed 4 turnovers in the defeat.
Grizzlies redshirt senior quarterback Dalton Sneed completed 17 of 25 passes for 265 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 2 picks. Each of those passing touchdowns went to redshirt junior wideout Samori Toure, who hauled in 8 catches for 193 yards.
"Playing a team a second time in a year is always a challenge," Montana head coach Bobby Hauck said, per the Standard-Examiner. "In reviewing our last game with Weber State, I don't think we played particularly well, so we need to play better than last time in order to win this game. We need to execute better, and we really just need to go out and play our best game of the season."
The Grizzlies reached the quarterfinals by thumping the Southeastern Louisiana Lions 73-28 at home.
Sneed went 29-of-45 for a career-high 459 yards, matching a career best with 5 touchdown passes. Toure made 12 grabs for a school-record 303 yards and a trio of touchdowns. He set an FCS playoffs record for receiving yards in a game, breaking the mark set by Pro Football Hall of Fame receiver Randy Moss in 1996.
"That's surreal just because he's always been my favorite receiver and my role model growing up," Toure said, according to the Missoulian. "That definitely means a lot to me. But yeah, right now, I'm just happy that we got this first playoff win out of the way and I'm just excited to see what's next for our team."
For those with short memories, it's easy to forget the Oakland Raiders of the 70s and 80s were known for their amazing defenses. It's been quite a long time since that's been the case. There was a brief time in the 2000s when the team had a top pass defense, but they were still weak at stopping running backs. No matter who coaches or what personnel the team brings on, they can't seem to figure out how to fix that side of the ball.
The Raiders are in the midst of one of the worst slumps in team history and while the offense hasn't done much, the defense has somehow been even worse. When you look at the numbers things get even scarier.
-------------------------
GUENTHER UNDER THE GUN
Defensive coordinator Paul Guenther may have had success while he was coaching the Cincinnati Bengals, but that hasn't translated to the Raiders. Josh Dubow of the Associated Press revealed just how bad his defenses have been since he took over.
#Raiders defensive rankings in 2 years under Paul Guenther:
Points per game allowed: 28.7, 31st in league
Yards per play allowed: 6.21, 32nd in league
Passer rating against: 103.3, 31st in league
-- Josh Dubow (@JoshDubowAP) December 9, 2019
In terms of yards per play allowed, the Raiders are the absolute worst in the NFL since 2018. The defense is second-worst in points per game allowed and opponents' passer rating. Now, Guenther deserves a mulligan for 2018 because the front office gave him almost nothing to work with and traded away his best player just before the season started. He also had almost no young talent to work with.
Guenther will probably expect another pass this year because of all the injuries and suspension. He lost both starting safeties, Vontaze Burfict and Arden Key. However, when most of the players were on the field, the unit still didn't look great. Gruden is a big fan of his, so that works in his favor. Guenther should definitely be feeling the heat these last few games, but barring an absolute collapse, Gruden will probably give him one more shot heading into 2020. One thing is for sure, if the defense continues to play like one of the worst in the NFL next season, the defensive coordinator could be on his way out before the season ends.

HISTORICALLY BAD
The Raiders haven't just been losing, they've been losing in embarrassing fashion. They've allowed over 40 points in the last to games and according to Dubow, that's the first time they've done it since 2012.
For just the second time since Al Davis joined #Raiders they allowed 40+ points in consecutive games. Also happened in 2012 vs Tampa Bay and Baltimore
-- Josh Dubow (@JoshDubowAP) December 9, 2019
That's not even mentioning just how bad they've when their opponents don't have great field position.
Those long drives are killer and the Raiders give up far too many.
#Raiders lose 3 straight by 21+ points for second time in franchise history (2012). Only teams since merger to do that four in a row in same season are 2002 Arizona, 1986 Tampa and 1972 Patriots
-- Josh Dubow (@JoshDubowAP) December 9, 2019
-------------------------
3RD QUARTER WOES
If Oakland could just eliminate the third quarter of games altogether, they'd probably have a much better win-loss record. The 2019 rendition of the Raiders defense has given up an absurd amount of points in the third quarter.
#Raiders have been outscored by 78 points in the 3rd quarter, 30 more than next worst team (Bengals). Only team since 2000 to have been outscored by more in 3rd quarter thru 13 games was 2012 Raiders at minus-88
-- Josh Dubow (@JoshDubowAP) December 11, 2019
As Dubow points out, the only team to have worse point differential since 2000 was the 2012 Raiders. That team went 4-12 and was one of the worst teams in the NFL. This current team is 6-7 and still has every chance to finish the season over .500.

There has been a lot of buzz surrounding Chicago native and Miami Heat rookie Kendrick Nunn. The undrafted rookie back in October became the first rookie to score a hundred plus points in his first five games since two-time Finals MVP, Kevin Durant, achieved it during his time in Seattle.
Nunn is averaging 16.2 points, 2.7 rebounds, 3.4 assists per game for the Miami Heat through 24 games.
"He's an experienced older young player," said Heats coach Erik Spoelstra, per David Santiago of the Miami Herald.
“Coach [Spoelstra] is the base of everything,” Nunn said, according to UPI's Alex Butler “The word [culture] comes from him. He runs the practices and everything. I’m just taking it from him and putting it into all the players.”
“They are building a championship culture here,” Nunn added. “I know what championship basketball looks like and feels like. I’ve been a part of some championship teams. The culture here is just for that, and I feel like I fit.”

REGGIE MILLER, DORIS BURKE, AND ALONZO MOURNING ON KENDRICK NUNN
Earlier this season during a TNT broadcast between the Miami Heat and the Atlanta Hawks Hall of Famer and NBA analyst Reggie Miller mentioned that "Pat Riley and Erik Spoelstra found a diamond in the rough with this young man Kendrick Nunn. I mean, he plays with such a maturity to this game," said Miller. Nunn would finish the game with 28 and 2 rebounds.
Last month, before the Los Angeles Lakers, faced the Dallas Mavericks in Dallas, ESPN's NBA analyst spoke to Fanatics View and shared Kendrick Nunn 'has been doing some work down in Miami, giving them some much need scoring punch. I tell you Pat Riley seems to be the master of finding diamonds in the rough and turning them into something special, shared Burke.
Meanwhile, Miami Heat great and Hall of Famer Alonzo Mourning was a guest on The Jump earlier today with Rachel Nichols and Kendrick Perkins and weighed in on Nunn. Perkins shared a story that he is very close to Nunn's first agent Richard Gray, and he said there 15 to 20 GMs that told him that this kid will never play in the NBA. Perkins asked Mourning what made the Heat believe in him.
Mourning replied, first of all, we are basketball professionals; we are not perfect at our jobs. So, there a lot of front office people sometimes make decisions that they wish they can change."
"So, we were fortunate enough to identify Kendrick as someone that we can grow and develop, and based on what he showed us this summer isn't shocking. He had an amazing summer league. I saw him almost every day in her during the summertime getting ready and preparing his body, and now it shows," said Mourning.
BULLS' COBI WHITE THINKS NUNN COULD WIN THE ROY
Heavy's Brandon 'Scoop B' Robinson spoke with White earlier this year about the 2019 rookie class.
"I don’t know, us, we’re playing well too, but then you got guys like Tyler Herro, Kendrick Nunn, Deandre Hunter, it’s just, I don’t know, all of us are playing really well at the beginning of the season. I know it’s still early, it’s kind of early to make predictions and assume, but I don’t know, I don’t think no one expected all of us to play as well as we do; obviously we’re going to have our ups and downs," said White.
White would continue: "Definitely Kendrick Nunn. He’s a bucket. I personally didn’t know who he was until summer league, and he was killing at summer league on Miami just going off, and then preseason, he dropped 40 the last game, and then ever since then, he’s been in a crazy rhythm. You know, a lot of people hadn’t heard about him, but he’s definitely earned my respect, you know. It just proves that no matter where you come from, no matter who you are, as long as you’re given the opportunity-I feel like he’s been given the opportunity, and he’s made the most of it."
The Miami Heat play host to the Los Angeles Lakers tonight, and you can catch the game on ESPN.

The Eagles submitted their final injury report ahead of Sunday's game. One surprising name surfaced with a hip problem.
Starting cornerback Ronald Darby was listed as a "limited participant" during Friday's practice and his status is officially questionable against Washington. Darby is apparently dealing with a hip flexor injury that was previously undisclosed. He either sustained the injury late Thursday or Friday.
If Darby can't go on Sunday, the team would likely roll out Avonte Maddox opposite starter Jalen Mills. Unless (hint, hint) they chose to go in an entirely different direction and scan the waiver wire. As bad as Darby has played in recent weeks, it's troubling to lose a starter at a key position.
Three starters didn't participate at all in Friday's practice: receiver Nelson Agholor (knee), right tackle Lane Johnson (ankle) and defensive end Derek Barnett (ankle). Johnson was the only one declared out for Sunday. The other two will be game-time decisions. Agholor is in a well-documented "stalemate" with his knee and Barnett hurt his ankle versus Miami.
In addition to Darby, running back Jordan Howard (shoulder) was also a limited participant and listed as questionable. Howard isn't expected to play as the team rests him for Dallas.
Linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill (concussion) and Jalen Mills (elbow) were full participants. Both players will suit up and start for the Eagles, although Grugier-Hill may face discipline for lying about his concussion symptoms.
-------------------------
DOUG PEDERSON NOT WORRIED ABOUT WIDE RECEIVERS
There was a public outcry over the Eagles only have three receivers active last week. That number quickly dwindled to two after Alshon Jeffery left the game with a foot injury. He is now lost for the season.
The Eagles have called up practice-squad player Robert Davis and he's expected to see a nice role in his first game. Even so, it has to be somewhat troubling for the team to be so thin at the position. The Eagles might only have three natural wide receivers -- Davis, J.J. Arcega-Whiteside, Greg Ward -- active on Sunday if starter Nelson Agholor can't suit up.
There is a good chance Agholor won't play as he's been dealing with the same injury since Week 6. The Eagles have tight end Joshua Parkins available, too. The practice-squad player saw reps at receiver last week and played well.
"I look at it as nine bodies, with tight ends, runners and receivers, so we have everything covered that way," head coach Doug Pederson told reporters. "We have a plan to the plan to the plan to the plan if we lose a guy during the course of the game. It's where we are right now as a team, as an offense.Guys are working extremely hard. I'm excited about the guys that get an opportunity."

The Philadelphia Flyers announced deeply upsetting news about Oskar Lindblom, the team's power forward on Friday. The 23-year-old was diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma by leading specialists at the University of Pennsylvania, the Flyers said in an official statement.
"He will undergo further testing and evaluation next week and begin treatment immediately thereafter," the statement from Flyers' General Manager Chuck Fletcher read. "He is not expected to return to play for the remainder of the season. The Flyers will do everything possible to support Oskar and assist him in securing the best care available."
Lindblom missed a game on Wednesday after suffering what was described as an upper body-injury. Flyers coach Alain Vigneault said to the Philadelphia Inquirer he "wasn't quite sure yet" about the seriousness of his injury, and recalled winger David Kase from the AHL's Lehigh Valley Phantoms to take his place in the line-up.
After being selected by the Flyers in the fifth round (No. 138 overall) in the 2014 NHL Draft, the Swedish hockey player signed a three-year entry-level contract with the franchise in 2017. Lindblom was at first assigned with the Phantoms, but was called up to the NHL on February 19, 2018. He recorded his first point on March 17, 2018, and scored his first goal as a Flyer the next day while the team played against the Washington Capitals. Lindblom then helped his team reach Round 1 of the Stanley Cup playoffs that year.
In 2019, Lindblom is tied with forward Travis Konceny for team leader in goals. The rising star has 57 points (30 goals and 27 assists) throughout his three seasons in the NHL thus far. He's played in four Stanley Cup playoff games, but has not recorded a goal during the post-season.
This past year, Lindblom was selected to make his senior international debut with his home country of Sweden at the World Championships held in Bratislava, Slovakia.
In late November, Lindblom sported a violet jersey with the rest of his Flyers' teammates to support cancer research. He proudly posted a photo on Instagram with the caption of a purple heart and the hashtag, "Hockey fights cancer." There is currently no timetable for Lindblom's return.

WHAT IS EWING'S SARCOMA?
As defined by the Mayo Clinic, Ewing's sarcoma is an rare type of cancer that occurs in the bones or the soft tissue around the bones. This type of cancer often beings in the long bones of the pelvis, legs, or arms, but can occur in any bone. While it happens less often, Ewing sarcoma can also take place in the soft tissues of the arms, legs, abdomen, or other parts of the body.
While Ewing sarcoma is most common in teenagers and young adult, it can occur at any stage in life. Symptoms include pain and swelling in the affected areas, bone pain, which can worsen at night or with physical activity, unexplained tiredness, fever with no cause, unintended weight loss, or bones breaking without incident.
While there are no ways to prevent Ewing's sarcoma, it's neither genetic or linked to environmental issues, it can be treated depending on how early the cancer was detected. Treatment options include chemotherapy, surgery to remove the cancerous cells, which may involved removing small portions of the infected bone, or an entire limb, depending on the tumor's size.
Patients may also opt for radiation therapy, which uses high-energy laser beams to kill cancer cells.

VIRGINIA VS WAKE FOREST PREVIEW
The top-seeded Cavaliers edged the No. 8 Southern Methodist Mustangs 3-2 in overtime a week ago to reach their 13th College Cup (the national semifinals and final).
"It was a good game, great college soccer game," Virginia head coach George Gelnovatch said, according to The Cavalier Daily. "There were a lot of goals in the game, excitement in the game, momentum swings in the game and some good football and some great players out there."
Cavaliers sophomore midfielder Daryl Dike drew two penalties in the box, leading to a pair of goals for junior midfielder Joe Bell.
Bell put Virginia up 2-1 from the spot in the 78th minute. In the fifth minute of overtime, SMU senior keeper Patrick Michael Hillyard dove to his right to stone Bell's second PK, only for the junior to pound the rebound home for the golden goal. Hillyard replaced starter Grant Makela, a junior, before Bell's second attempt from the spot.
"I think the keeper made a good save, but that's soccer," Bell said, per The Cavalier Daily. "I'll take it, the team will take it. Off to the College Cup."
The Cavaliers are searching for their eighth title and first since 2014. Only the St. Louis Billikens and the Indiana Hoosiers have more national championships, with 10 and eight, respectively.
The Demon Deacons have played in two national finals, winning it all in 2007 and falling to Stanford Cardinal on penalties in 2016, their second season under head coach Bobby Muuss.
They reached their sixth College Cup by besting the unseeded UC Santa Barbara Gauchos 1-0 on Saturday.
"The bottom line is that we needed to survive. We talked all week about fighting to play football, fighting to play soccer and fighting to play our game," Muuss said, according to the Old Gold & Black. "The moral of the story is that one of our goals is checked. We wanted to get back to the College Cup and we got the opportunity to do that."
Senior midfielder Alistair Johnston scored the game's lone goal in the 44th minute, speeding into the Gauchos box before dancing through several defenders and finding the back of the net.
"I probably surprised myself a little bit," Johnston said, per the Old Gold & Black. "I looked to pick my head up quickly and didn't see a quick option, an easy option, so I said let's go for it and see what happens. I guess it ended up being a pretty good decision."

'MEL BROOKS UNWRAPPED' PREVIEW
Mel Brooks has been one of the most influential voices in comedy for the last 60-plus years. This new HBO special partners with Alan Yentob, the former creative director of the BBC, to bring fans a once-in-a-lifetime look at Brooks' life and body of work.
Since 1981, Yentob has filmed Brooks for several candid and mock interviews. The special combines this archival footage with present-day interviews bring fans insight and anecdotes into Brooks' career.
Yentob also followed Brooks around in his day-to-day life, including a visit with Brooks' longtime friend and collaborator, filmmaker, writer, and actor Carl Reiner, where the two legends eat spaghetti and watch clips of Brooks' most famous work.

Brooks is one of only a handful of artists to have the coveted EGOT to his name -- he won several Emmy Awards for variety shows and his recurring role on Mad About You; he won three Grammy Awards for The Producers and his spoken comedy album; he won an Oscar for The Producers; he won three Tony Awards for The Producers.
The special is also sure to touch on Brooks' longtime love, Anne Bancroft. The two were married in 1964 and remained so until her death from cancer in 2005. In a recent interview with _CBS Sunday Morning_, he showed Ban Mankiewicz all the photos he has on his wall of Bancroft in her great roles and called her his "inspiration."
"She's always been an inspiration, she always thought I was talented. She believed in me right from the beginning, as a songwriter as well as a screenplay writer. Whatever I wanted to do, she said I could do it," says Brooks, recalling how they met at a taping of a Perry Como TV special.
"She was wearing a white gown and she has jet-black, shiny hair and the most beautiful eyes and the most beautiful figure and I said … I'm in love. I'm just struck by her. I'm struck and I'm in love," says Brooks, adding that he screamed out he loved her and that's it. They started talking and the rest is history.
_Mel Brooks Unwrapped_ premieres Friday, Dec. 13 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO.

COLORADO VS CSU PREVIEW
The Rams are coming off a 72-68 win against South Dakota State Tuesday, which halted a two-game skid. Led by center Nico Carvacho, who is tops on the team in scoring (13.3 points per game) and rebounds (9.9 a game), CSU is shooting 35.6% from three-point range, and 46.7% from the field.
Carvacho has been assisted by freshman guard Isaiah Stevens, who is chipping in 11 points and a team-leading 3.6 assists a game. Sophomore forward Adam Thistlewood is adding 9.8 points and 4 rebounds a game, and he is also the team's best three-point shooter, hitting over 45% of his shots from beyond the arc.
Defense seems to be the key this season for the Rams, however. They're 7-0 when holding teams to 75 points or less, and 0-5 when they fail to do that.
The Buffaloes are currently in first place in the Pac-12 Division, and they're trying to snap a two-game losing streak after winning their first seven games. Junior guard Tyler Bey is averaging a double double (13 points and 11 rebounds) and he leads the team in both categories. Guard McKinley Wright IV and guard D'Shawn Schwartz are also adding 12.3 and 10.3 points, respectively.
Sophomore forward Evan Battey is averaging 9.3 points and 6.2 rebounds, but he is shooting just over 55% from the free throw line, and details like those could matter a great deal in this game.
Both Schwartz and Bey are the team's best three-point shooters, each hitting 41.7% of their long-range shots. As a team, the Buffaloes are shooting 35% from three-point range, which isn't great, but they're also 30th in the nation in points allowed (60.6 ppg) so solid defense has been a huge reason why they've won seven games.
Considering that it's a strength of both teams, this game could likely come down to defense, with the victor playing the stingiest 'D.'
The Buffaloes won last year's clash between these two teams, beating the Rams 86-80.
The Milwaukee Bucks and Sacramento Kings are to be participating in games at prisons in order to raise awareness about issues within the American justice system. They will be the first NBA teams in league history to participate in basketball games at correctional facilities, per the Undefeated. Both teams partnered with The Represent Justice Campaign who will be organizing the games.
The Represent Justice Campaign started a Play For Justice initiative that the Kings and Bucks will be a part of. The coaches and players will have the opportunity to converse with incarcerated individuals and serve as honorary coaches. Last night the Sacramento Kings hosted the first game at Folsom State Prison, according to the NBA.
“We’re proud to be the first participant in the Play for Justice initiative, which is shining a bright light on the unique issues facing incarcerated people in communities around the country,” said Vivek Ranadivé, chairman, CEO and governor of the Kings. “Sports franchises have a unique opportunity to bring about positive change, which is why in the past year, the Kings and the Bucks brought together leaders from across two cities to share best practices and find new solutions to social injustices. This collaboration with Represent Justice is another example of how we can use our platforms for good.”
Milwaukee will host another game later this month in Wisconsin. Bucks guards Sterling Brown and George Hill will be participating in the games. The Undefeated reported that Nike is donating sneakers that will be mailed to the inmates' families as they are not allowed to keep the items while imprisoned. Their families and friends are invited to attend the event as well.
“My teammates, coaches and I are honored to take part in this unique criminal justice initiative to hear the stories of our community members and the challenges they face on a daily basis,” said Brown. “We are looking forward to sharing in this experience with them while also identifying how we can further this important conversation nationwide through basketball.”
The Kings and Bucks will also partner up and host an event together on February 10.

THE REPRESENT JUSTICE CAMPAIGN X THE NBA
The Milwaukee Bucks and Sacramento Kings mascots
According to the NBA, The campaign organized the Play for Justice initiative to "advance the goals of uplifting narratives of hope and redemption to break down stigmas associated with individuals – disproportionately people of color and the poor – who are impacted by the criminal justice system and aim to humanize incarcerated individuals in the media and public opinion." Their goal is to bring awareness to issues within the justice system and to use the platform that these NBA teams have to spark conversations and actions to "demand a fair legal system, dignity for system-impacted communities, and an end to extreme sentencing."
"I’ve joined the Represent Justice Campaign because after being sentenced to life in prison and now free, I want people to see that I am the reflection, not the exception, of humanity that's hidden inside our prison walls. In starting and leading a successful justice reform organization, I want to share my story so that redemption and second chances are driving values in the effort to reform our legal system,” said Adnan Khan, a REPRESENT JUSTICE Campaign surrogate, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Re:Store Justice.
Other NBA teams to participate in the campaign will be announced in 2020.
The future is now uncertain for two-time All-Pro pass rusher Terrell Suggs after his first season with the Arizona Cardinals was surprisingly cut short.
The Cardinals released the 37-year-old veteran on Friday afternoon to the waivers in an abrupt move that makes it unclear whether Suggs will continue playing, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. He spent the first 16 seasons of his career with the Baltimore Ravens, earning seven Pro Bowl distinctions and winning a Super Bowl championship during the 2012 season on his way to becoming the franchise's all-time sacks leader.
The Ravens weren't exactly looking to get rid of their veteran talent during the offseason and were surprised when he signed a two-year, $10 million deal with the Cardinals. Suggs never explained exactly why he decided to come to Arizona, but he has said he still considers the state home after playing defensive end for Arizona State prior to his NFL career.
Suggs started in all 13 games this season for the Cardinals and had tallied 37 tackles, seven quarterback hits and 5 1/2 sacks, making Friday's move a bit of a shocker even if it sounds as though the split was civil. The Cardinals gave him a $4 million signing bonus in March and would owe him the rest of his $3 million guaranteed money if he is not claimed.
The #Cardinals gave Terrell Suggs a $4 million signing bonus in March and owe him the rest of his $3M guaranteed salary if hes not claimed. Now, cut. Any team claiming Suggs would owe him only the prorated portion of that $3M salary for rest of 2019.
-- Tom Pelissero (@TomPelissero) December 13, 2019
According to ESPN's Josh Weinfuss, head coach Kliff Kingsbury said the conversations about his release were mutual and that it was the best move for both parties, as it would allow Suggs to land with another team and afford more playing time for younger Cardinals players.
"We have such great respect for him," Kingsbury said via ESPN. "He was phenomenal in our building, work ethic, energy, the juice he brought every day, professionalism -- it was through the roof, and so we wanted to give him an opportunity to find a fit if that's out there."

COULD THE RAVENS REUNITE WITH SUGGS?
Right now is a good time to be a Ravens fan, but many of them were just as disappointed as their favorite team when Suggs departed in the offseason. Now that he is out on the waivers, there is a small chance a reunion could be in store in Baltimore.
Probably not, though.
While the Ravens certainly wouldn't mind the help of a trusted pass rusher, there is much still uncertain about what Suggs is interested in doing with the rest of his 2019 season. It seems unlikely he would jump on board with a team that is outside of the playoff picture even with his prior intentions to play through the 2020 season, but other contenders beyond Baltimore could use his veteran talents, too.
Suggs is the current active sacks leader with 138 and continues to be a model of consistency, playing 69 percent of defensive snaps for the Cardinals as a starter. A veteran of that caliber coming available this late in the season could be worth it for some, even with his prorated price tag of $3 million.
Suggs will remain on the waivers until Monday, but he can sign with any team he chooses if he is not claimed by the deadline.

Kamu Grugier-Hill lied because he wanted to stay in the game. That confession isn't going over well with his coach.
On Thursday, the Eagles linebacker admitted that he told the team's medical staff he had a shoulder injury so they wouldn't take him out. He actually had a head injury -- and knew it might be a concussion -- after getting whacked on the first play from scrimmage against Miami.
Doug Pederson addressed the media on Friday afternoon and wasn't amused by Grugier-Hill's actions.
"Listen, our game has changed since I played and maybe then you could [lie]," Pederson said. "But now, there's too many things in place, too many protocols, too many standards that we as coaches and as players, we're trying to protect our game and the well-being of every player."
A disappointed Pederson took it a step further by calling it a "selfish act" and there will be talk with GM Howie Roseman about disciplinary action.
"In a sense, it's a little bit of a selfish act," Pederson said, "to take it upon yourself and make that decision when he could have gotten checked out right away and probably would have cleared to go back in the game at that point."

NELSON AGHOLOR'S 'STALEMATE" COMMENT RAISES EYEBROWS
Nelson Agholor used the term "stalemate" to describe what is going on with his injured knee. It's a bit of an odd phrase, not lost on his head coach.
Doug Pederson gave a quick update on Agholor's status before Friday's practice and commented on the "stalemate" issue.
"Not sure what 'stalemate' means, but we're still working through it," Pederson said. "We'll work through today and see where he's at. Obviously, he hasn't worked the last couple of days."
Agholor is considered a game-time decision for Sunday. The same goes for injured running back Jordan Howard (shoulder) who still hasn't been cleared for contact. Howard's issue is going on almost seven weeks with no resolution.

ALSHON JEFFERY OUT POSSIBLY FOR NINE MONTHS
Alshon Jeffery's foot injury has been classified as a Lisfranc sprain and the receiver will undergo season-ending surgery to repair it. The Eagles placed Jeffery on injured reserve on Thursday and promoted Robert Davis from the practice squad.
Lisfranc injuries are tricky things and require a long road to recovery. Jeffery could be out for as long as nine months, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. The Eagles wouldn't put a timetable on Jeffery's return, although it seems pretty clear everyone has braced for a lengthy absence.
#Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery's timetable for return from surgery to correct a Lisfranc foot injury is roughly 9 months, an NFL source said. Recovery will obviously factor into length. If it is only 9 months, that would be right around the beginning of the 2020 NFL season.
-- Jeff McLane (@Jeff_McLane) December 13, 2019
"He would want to get it [the surgery] done quickly so he can get on the rehab schedule," head coach Doug Pederson said.
When asked if Jeffery might miss the start of next season, Pederson didn't rule it out. "That's still a long way away," he said.
Remember, spring minicamps -- known as "organized team activities" -- start in April. Jeffery might be up against it. Of course, that's assuming the team decides to bring him back.

Naturally, because it serves his own purposes, Jerry Jones watched what went down at the house he built.
Last week's Big 12 Championship between No. 7 Baylor and No. 4 Oklahoma, hosted at AT&T Stadium, was an instant classic. The teams traded scores for _five_ quarters until the Sooners landed the overtime knockout blow -- a five-yard Rhamondre Stevenson run -- in their thrilling 30-23 victory.
It was a masterclass in coaching, a quintessential chess match involving Matt Rhule and Lincoln Riley, whom Jones reportedly is "very intrigued" by.
A presumption now confirmed as fact by the Cowboys' czar himself.
"I'm impressed with him. But, boy, I'm impressed with Baylor's coach, too," Jones said Friday on 105.3 The Fan. "Those were two outstanding coaches at the stadium this weekend. … They've done great jobs. … That was a great chance to see a couple great coaches out there."
Two of the best offensive minds on the planet, Riley and Rhule have resisted NFL overtures in recent years, but the temptation might be too great this time around. One or both could make the leap to the pros in 2020; the latter reportedly is "very interested" in the Giants' soon-to-be coaching vacancy.
One or both may also wind up on Dallas' candidate shortlist, as they're expected to replace HC Jason Garrett after the season, barring a deep (some say improbable) playoff run.
Jones' assessment is a possible indication that he's scouring the collegiate ranks for the next up-and-comer rather than leaning toward a veteran retread as Garrett's successor.
Former Ohio State head man Urban Meyer is considered the tentative frontrunner if (when) the Cowboys decide to conduct a coaching search.

JONES GIVES PAUSE TO HIRING FROM NCAA
Nick Saban is Exhibit A in proving that success doesn't automatically translate from college to the NFL. In fact, it rarely does. Some are simply better suited on the recruiting trail, appealing to 21-year-olds and being the big fish roaming a small pond. If they're holding those positions, it's usually for good reason: They can't cut it at the next level.
Although he'll likely cast a wide net to find the Cowboys' new leader of men, Jones is aware that his choice can backfire the way so many others have if he picks from an inexperienced pool. Going into the unknown not knowing is a risky proposition, to say the least.
"College coaches, a head coach coming directly into (to the NFL) head coach, have the lowest percentage rate of success (in the NFL)," Jones said, via 105.3 The Fan. "It's pretty obvious they have to get acquainted with personnel. College coaches spend Sunday working. It's one of their biggest workday weeks. In many cases, they aren't familiar with the personnel, and that's a big deal.
"So, you pay a price for someone to get up to date that haven't spent the prior months or years in the NFL. And just the nature of the game, college coaches don't spend a lot of time watching this game. I'm reminded we won one football game the first year we came and brought Jimmy (Johnson) in."

ESPN PERSONALITY WARNS MEYER NOT TO COACH COWBOYS [WATCH]
Paul Finebaum has advice for Meyer as he mulls the idea of taking over America's Team: Don't. Finebaum, a former columnist-turned-commentator known for his coverage of Alabama, appeared on ESPN's _Get Up_ on Wednesday to deliver a pointed message to Meyer, who's reportedly interested in the Dallas job should it become available.
There's room in _this_ proverbial pond for a lame duck, Finebaum cautions, but not two big fish.
"Urban didn't like the president of the university telling him what to do last year. He certainly is not going to like Jerry Jones [telling him what to do]," Finebaum said. "You start thinking about the worst possible marriages in history -- Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thornton; go down the list -- this would be the worst."
Why?
"Because Urban Meyer and Jerry Jones would just butt heads from Day 1," he said. "Urban's an authoritarian figure. He runs everything. He's a detail freak. And Jerry Jones talking to the media after his first exhibition loss would drive Urban off the deep end."
The NFL career of Denver Broncos QB Drew Lock is off to a hot start. After being named the team's starting quarterback in Week 13, Lock has led his team to two consecutive wins with a divisional showdown versus the Kansas City Chiefs quickly approaching in Week 15.
Not only is the former University of Missouri quarterback returning to his hometown of Kansas City on Sunday, but the potential exists for an awkward encounter with someone with notable ties to the Chiefs organization.
According to a tip sent to SportsGossip.com, Lock previously dated Gracie Hunt, the daughter of Chiefs Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt. On September 30, the site reported that Gracie Hunt had admitted to dating an NFL player via an Instagram Q&A earlier in the month, but Lock's name was just recently tied to the NFL Style spokesmodel and Special Olympics Ambassador, along with old photos of the pair.
A recent BroBible article also shows a photo of Hunt together with Brittany Matthews, the girlfriend of Chiefs MVP QB Patrick Mahomes.
Further details on the timeline of the Lock-Hunt relationship have yet to surface, but the 23-year-old quarterback appears to have moved on to a new girlfriend.

LOCK NOW LINKED TO INSTAGRAM MODEL
Lock has most recently been tied to Instagram model and University of Colorado attendee Natalie Newman. The two have included each other in multiple social media posts in past months.
Back on October 13, Newman, who currently has 182K followers on Instagram, posted a photo with Lock at Empower Field at Mile High - the same day the Broncos blanked the Tennessee Titans, 16-0. Newman's caption read "Your newest Broncos fan."
More recently on November 12, Lock shared a photo of the couple at a Post Malone concert at Denver's Pepsi Center featuring the caption "Everybody's blind when the views amazing."
Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is nearing a long-awaited return to the pitch, much to the delight of supporters and his manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. In his two spells at Old Trafford, the Frenchman has witnessed an incredible roster of youths suit up for one of the most storied clubs in Europe, him being one of them.
In an interview with MUTV's Stewart Gardner, Pogba spoke of United commemorating the 4,000th consecutive game where an Academy graduate will be listed in the first-team roster, which goes back to 1937.
"It's unbelievable and it shows the identity of this club and the culture of this club," the World Cup winner sad. "We’ve always talked about youth players coming into the first team and it’s just carried on. It’s something that is in this club, it’s incredible it’s been happening since 1937. You want to carry this on for the young players and the next generation to go and play in the first team."
POGBA IS A UNITED ACADEMY GRADUATE HIMSELF
The 26-year-old joined the United Academy program when he was 16-years-old, and spoke candidly about what it was like training with some of the best to wear the red shirt.
"When I started training with the first team, I was 17, and I remember Vida [Nemanja Vidic] was there and Ji-sung Park and I touched Vida and I saw how tough and how strong he was! I knew then I had to work hard to get into the first team. It was a really great experience as a young kid to come here at 16 and see everything so big, and see all these top players and a top manager. To be there, having them sat next to us around the training ground, was a dream come true."
As evidenced by how often he starts the youths, Solskjaer has a lot of confidence in the Academy graduates and intends to use their services more often. For Pogba, he told the lads to take advantage of the injured first-team players to get in some worthwhile minutes on the pitch.
"Guys, be ready and always take the opportunity," he instructed. "If they have quality to be with the first team then why not take the opportunity and play and enjoy yourself?
"This is one of the biggest clubs in the world and maybe the biggest club in history and they have the chance to be in this club. So I say to them: ‘Take your chance, play, you are young, you have quality, you have nothing to be afraid of."
POGBA IS EXPECTED TO BE BACK IN TRAINING NEXT WEEK
United is expected to get a boost in the midfield as they kick off the second half of the Premier League next month. Per the boss, Pogba and defenders Eric Bailly and Timothy Fosu-Mensah will be back in training next week.
"Next week, Eric [Bailly] will start training, Tim [Fosu-Mensah] will start training, Paul will probably start training with us next week properly. So let's see," Solskjaer said.
Pogba hasn't suited up for United since their 1-1 draw against Arsenal at the end of the September, nursing an ongoing ankle sprain. It was expected he would return at the beginning of the month, but United will be lucky to get the former Juventus star before the year's end.
The Eagles did nothing at the NFL trade deadline. Shockingly, there is still a way for the Eagles to add a shutdown cornerback.
Two months ago, Philadelphia was criticized for not making a move to acquire a lock-down leader for their struggling secondary. Guys like Darius Slay, Jalen Ramsey and Marcus Peters were all available and rumored to be on their radar.
Now a Pro-Bowl cornerback is sitting out there on the waiver wire. They need to put a claim in right now. The Giants waived veteran cornerback Janoris Jenkins on Friday for conduct detrimental to the team. He was extremely happy.
Best news ever.. Thank you
-- JackRabbit2.0 (@JjenkzLockdown) December 13, 2019
What did he do? Nothing major.
Jenkins called a Giants fan a "retard" on Twitter on Dec. 11 after the person referenced what he deemed to be hollow stats. The 31-year-old had posted a string of impressive personal numbers, including 14 pass break-ups, four interceptions and 50 total tackles. The Giants are 2-11.
Some found the term "retard" offensive and Jenkins double-downed on his stance. He defended it as "slang" he grew up with in a fake apology. The Giants didn't feel Jenkins was worth the firestorm and decided to part ways. If no team claims him, the cornerback will revert to the Giants' IR list.
-------------------------
EAGLES SHOULD POUNCE ON JANORIS JENKINS
This isn't really up for debate. The Eagles' secondary has been up and down this year, to put it mildly.
They were burned two weeks ago by DeVante Parker and the Dolphins who torched them for 351 yards, including 159 yards from Parker alone. The cornerbacks, specifically Ronald Darby, looked lost and confused.
It was a trend that carried over into the first half last week against the Giants. Darby surrendered two early touchdown bombs to Darius Slayton, although one wasn't necessarily his fault.
Wow!!! Raining Boos at the Linc!!!

-- Jeff Skversky 6abc (@JeffSkversky) December 10, 2019
The Eagles gave up 182 passing yards in the first half, then made the proper adjustments and limited them to 21 yards in the second half. Still, the team cannot stake those big leads to inferior opponents.
Janoris Jenkins would instantly upgrade one of the worst secondaries in football. He would step right into a starter's role, assuming they bench Darby -- or maybe they roll him out as the nickel cornerback. Either way, Jenkins would be the best cover guy on the Eagles' roster.
-------------------------
BRING HOME THE COWBOY KILLER
It's no secret the Eagles will have to slow down Michael Gallup and Amari Cooper when the Cowboys come to town in less than two weeks. As bad as Dallas has looked, their offense can put up points -- in a hurry. The Eagles found that out the hard way on Oct. 20 in a 37-10 blowout loss.
This time, the showdown could very well decide who wins the NFC East. They'll need to stop a Cowboys' offense averaging 430.8 passing yards per game, tops in the NFL. Gallup (905 yards) and Cooper (1,054 yards) are the catalysts for that high-powered aerial attack, too. They have a combined 11 touchdowns.
Guess which cornerback locked Gallup and Cooper down in Week 1? Janoris Jenkins. It's something he's done throughout his career. Jenkins held Gallup and Cooper to just one catch for 13 yards on 16 targets, with three of those targets directed at Jenkins.

NORTHERN IOWA VS JAMES MADISON PREVIEW
Northern Iowa is coming off a 13-10 victory at South Dakota State, and Panthers head coach Mark Farley is proud of the grit his team showed in a tough road win last week.
"You have a group of seniors that this is their last run, this is it. We want to give them every opportunity … you want to do everything possible and beyond that to take care of the guys you have and make the run for the team you have. The effort they gave the other day makes you want to work harder for them because they gave a tremendous effort out in Brookings," Farley said. Farley also noted that he feels James Madison are the same caliber of opponent as the undefeated North Dakota State Bison, so it's clear he has a great deal of respect for his opponent.
The Panthers are led by quarterback Will McElvain, who has thrown for 2,664 yards, 20 touchdowns, and seven interceptions on the season. He leads an offense that's scoring just over 22 points a game, and they'll be facing a Dukes defense that's giving up a stingy 16.1 points a game, so McElvain will have to be smart and efficient. James Madison has also been incredibly good against the run, allowing 65.1 yards rushing per game, which is the lowest in the nation.
On offense, the Dukes lead the FCS in scoring, putting up 44.1 points a game. Behind dual threat senior quarterback Ben DiNucci, who has 2,825 yards, 24 touchdowns, and four interceptions on the season, this Dukes offense has been hard to stop.
James Madison is putting up over 255 yards rushing to go with 226 passing yards per game, and UNI should provide a unique challenge for the Dukes. Northern Iowa have played stout defense all season. They are allowing 17.7 points and 104.7 rushing yards per game, so DiNucci cannot afford to miss opportunities or make mistakes.
The winner of this game will move on to play either Montana or Weber State in a national final game on December 21st.
Samuel Greisman is actress Sally Field's son from her second marriage. This year, Field and her life's work were celebrated at the 2019 Kennedy Center Honors, which took place on Dec. 8, but which are airing Sunday (Dec. 15) on CBS. Greisman was on hand at the State Department dinner and the ceremony honoring the 2019 recipients, though he was more excited about interacting Nancy Pelosi, Tom Hanks, and Linda Ronstadt.
Here's everything you need to know about Field's youngest child, Sam Greisman.
-------------------------
1. SAM IS SALLY'S THIRD SON
Getty Images
Sally Field was married to Steven Craig from 1968 to 1975, during which time they had two sons: Peter, a novelist who is now 50, and Eli, an actor/director who is now 47. It was nearly two decades later that their younger half-brother entered the family. Field married her
second husband, Alan Greisman, in 1984 and Samuel Morlan Greisman was born Dec. 2, 1987.
Field and her sons are tightknit. She told AARP in a 2016 interview that she's close with all of them and her longtime friend, TV director Tricia Brock, added that when they go out to dinner, Field keeps her phone on the table in case one of her sons calls -- "she'll answer any call from any of her kids at any time."
And here's a fun fact. Field isn't the only famous person in the family. Sam's sister-in-law is Sasha Williams, aka the Yellow Power Ranger. She married his half-brother Eli in 2004 and they have two children together.
-------------------------
2. HE STUDIED AT NYU AND COLUMBIA
According to Greisman's Facebook page, he now resides in Los Angeles, but he previously studied at both New York University and Columbia University.
At NYU, Greisman majored in communications and then spent his first year after graduation working for New York magazine. He also wrote for Towleroad, a leading online news source for politics, pop culture, gay culture, entertainment, fashion, technology, and more.
Greisman then enrolled at Columbia University's renowned film school in 2013, graduating in 2017 and moving back to Los Angeles, according to his Blacklist profile.
-------------------------
3. SAM IS AN ASPIRING FILMMAKER
While attending film school, Greisman got a few short film credits to his name. He is the writer, producer and director for _Dinner With Jeffrey_ and _After School_, and is the writer and producer for _River Rats_, short film that was directed by his classmate Will Welles.
Dinner With Jeffrey is a film about a teen who struggles after coming out of the closet because his gay uncle tries to teach him about the "gay lifestyle." It premiered at the NewFest LGBTQ film festival in 2017.
In an interview with Call Me Adam around the time the film was released, Greisman said that the message of the film is that "coming out doesn't necessarily mean one's own work is done. There's still a lot of figuring out and messiness happening. That's kind of what the short is about."
-------------------------
4. HE CAME OUT AT 19
Getty Images
In the same interview with Call Me Adam, Greisman reveals that the plot of Dinner With Jeffrey is based on his life.
"The short is based on something that happened to me shortly after I came out at 19," he said, adding that the titular dinner scene was the easiest thing for him to write because it was basically exactly what happened to him. But he did find "taking reality and turning it into something that felt like a story" to be a challenge.
But his family has completely supportive of him, especially his mom. In 2012, Sam presented his mom with the Ally for Equality Award at the Human Rights Campaign Gala and said that his mother has been nothing but supportive.
"Being gay was just one more thing she loved about me. She couldn't be more supportive of me; if anything, I wish she was a little less supportive of me," he joked, adding that he had to break it to her that there were going to be things about his dating life he just was not going to share with her.
Field later told Oprah Winfrey in an interview, "It's important to have a parent speak about raising a magnificent, proud, intelligent, funny, lovable, sexy, gay son. And there are so many parents who are frightened of that and who don't embrace their children as the struggle to … embrace who they are, what nature intended them to be."

5. SAM IS IN A RELATIONSHIP
Despite his mom once trying to set him up with U.S. Olympic athlete Adam Rippon, Sam is in a committed relationship with someone special. Sam recently took his boyfriend Armand de la Torre as his date to the Kennedy Center Honors, where they were both very excited to see Big Bird and Tom Hanks.
Tom Hanks called my boyfriend "kid" tonight and I think he's gonna leave me now.
-- sam greisman (@SAMGREIS) December 8, 2019
The relationship looks fairly new, as the two men first started appearing in each other's Instagrams in June 2019 and one of Greisman's friends said on Twitter recently, "Wait, somehow I missed the boyfriend announcement. Congrats!"
Armand went to the University of San Francisco where he earned a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology. While attending school, he was on the Get Oriented team for incoming students and worked in a dorm as a Community Assistant, according to his LinkedIn profile. He was also a volunteer at the LightHouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired.

The Detroit Lions have been trending the wrong direction with injuries for the better part of a few months, but good news has come in the form of the health of Kerryon Johnson.
Recently removed from injured reserve and practicing, Johnson is looking like he could be on target to make a return by Week 16, and according to Matt Patricia, Johnson has been practicing well. That's led to folks think Johnson might be able to come back before the end of the 2019 season
Speaking Friday, Johnson also detailed what it was like to experience another knee injury. Obviously, it wasn't a great experience for the young back, who was looking to make a major mark in 2019 and looking primed to do so before injury struck.
The likelihood is that the Lions ease Johnson back into the mix when he returns and that he doesn't see much game time at all, but the fact he has been able to rally in time to come back to practice late in the season is good news for the Lions. Detroit's ground game needs a bit of a boost, and at the very least, the Lions will want to see that Johnson is good to go for 2020 by easing him back into the mix and getting him some meaningful game reps.
-------------------------
KERRYON JOHNSON INJURY
Johnson went down with a knee injury against the Minnesota Vikings in October and was spotted wearing a knee brace on the sidelines the day of the game. He was called questionable, and didn't return to the game.
The Monday after, nobody seemed quite sure how much time Johnson would miss, but the injury was called week to week. After the surgery decision, however, it meant that Johnson was definitively lost for some time.
In the early part of his career, Johnson has suffered from knee trouble, missing the end of the 2018 season thanks to the troublesome knee. He returned in 2019 and had been playing well for the team and avoiding trouble with injury so far. While he hadn't scored many touchdowns so far this season, he was playing a big role for the team giving them a major boost in the backfield and helping out the offense.
When Johnson has been gone, it's not as if the Lions have had tons of depth behind him. Rookie Ty Johnson and pass catcher J.D. McKissic were the two best options on the team in the moment, and the Lions blew through other options like Paul Perkins and Tra Carson. Otherwise, the squad struggled with the players they found to fill in. Eventually, they were able to find a potential hidden gem in Bo Scarbrough to tote the rock, and he's done so effectively with 236 yards in just three games. Now, however, Scarbrough is dinged up too.
The complicated nature of a knee injury for a player who's had a history of such problems is something to remember, and will no doubt be something that the Lions think about when they choose with how to proceed with Johnson.
-------------------------
LIONS PLAN AT RUNNING BACK
Now that Scarbrough has entered the fray, the Lions likely will not feel as if they are under any immediate pressure to rush Johnson back on the field to game speed. That would be the smartest approach the team could make, because Scarbrough has ran the ball well and looked like an effective option for the team in the meantime. It's possible the former collegiate rivals could form a solid tandem backfield in the Motor City in the future.
For now, though, the Lions must proceed with caution on Johnson. He's an important piece of the puzzle, and no matter how healthy he may be late in the season, the team still has to be sure he is completely right before rushing a return.
The Lions are fighting through a lost season, and may have found a solid second option at running back in Scarbrough. Getting him reps while working Johnson back to health might be the best possible outcome for a team playing out the string in a lost season.
Expect to see Johnson back by perhaps next week.

Peter Snell, considered New Zealand's greatest runner of all time, has died. He was 80 years old.
New Zealand Sports Hall of Fame confirmed the news, and reported that Snell passed away in his sleep while at his home in Dallas, Texas, where he lived with his Miki Snell.
As one of the famous Olympians in his home country, Snell was born in the Taranaki on December 17, 1938, and a graduate of Mount Albert Grammar School in Auckland. Training under Arthur Lydiard, Snell went on to win three gold medals: first in the 800 meters at the 1960 Summer Olympic games in Rome, and then in both the 800 meters and 1500 meters at the Tokyo Summer Olympics in 1964.
In 1962, Snell was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire. In 1965, Snell retired from competitive running, the same year he was made an Officer of the British Empire, and an autobiography of his life, _No Bugles, No Drums,_ was published. In 1999, Snell was named Sportsman of the Century by the ALAC Sports Awards in Auckland. He is the only male since 1920 to have won the 800 meter and the 1500 meter at the same Olympics.
Here's what you need to know about Peter Snell….
1. SNELL MOVED TO AMERICA FOR HIS COLLEGE EDUCATION
Peter Snell
After retiring form the sport, Snell moved stateside where he earned a degrees in sports physiology at University of California at Davis, and then his Ph.D. in exercise physiology at Washington State University.
He moved to Texas after being offered a job at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Snell was honored as an inaugural member of the American College of Sports Medicine in 1999, and recognized as an international scholar.

2. HE BECAME A COMPETITIVE TABLE TENNIS PLAYER AT AGE 75
Remaining active into old age, Snell competed in Texas in table tennis. He finished in the Top 4 in the 75 & older category, and competed in the 2017 World Masters Game back in his home country, New Zealand.
In 2012, after collapsing during a game of racquetball, and being diagnosed with non-ischaemic cardiomyopathy and fitted with an internal defibrillator to protect him against further life-threatening episodes, Snell described table tennis as "one of the few sports my weak heart will allow me to play."
Prior to table tennis, the perennial competitor became a big fan of orienteering, which is a group of sports that requires navigational skills. Participants use a map and compass to navigate from point to point in diverse and unfamiliar terrain, and Snell won his category for men 65 and older at the 2003 US Orienteering Championship. For a time, he served as the President of the North Texas Orienteering Association.

3. SNELL MET HIS WIFE MIKI IN TEXAS

Not surprisingly, Snell met his wife through running. Miki, a champion masters athlete, had met Snell's coach, Arthur Lydiard, numerous times throughout the running camps her women's track club sponsored in Dallas, and the legendary coach decided to invite Peter to Miki's club's 13 km run and dinner at a Mexican restaurant, where two felt instant chemistry.
"I was immediately attracted to her, and surreptitiously found out she was single and not in a steady relationship," Peter reminisced in an interview with Now to Love in 2017. "A couple of weeks later, I took her to a Christmas dinner dance party and the rest is history. We had a lot of interests in common and whenever possible, I ran with her during workouts."
On the secret to their lasting marriage Snell said, "We are fortunate to be on the same page in matters dealing with money, politics and religion. However, our common interest in sport and physical activity has been an important part of our lives."

4. SNELL CREDITED GETTING INTO SPORTS TO HIS ATHLETIC PARENTS & HAD TWO DAUGHTERS OF HIS OWN
Snell told Runners World of his parents George and Margaret Snell, "I grew up in a sporting family. His mother played tennis, and his father golf."
The star athlete also had two siblings, brother Jack Snell, and sister Marie Berry Snell. With Wife Miki, he had two daughters Amanda and Jacqui Snell, along with two grand daughters, Sam and Jodi Snell.

5. SNELL WAS IN A MULTI-CAR CRASH IN NOVEMBER AFTER SUFFERING A HEART ARRHYTHMIA
Peter Snell
Snell first developed heart problems in 2010, and a month ago, while on the way to a dentist appointment, he passed out while driving and crashed into numerous parked cars. He was not injured from the accident, and it was decided that an electrolyte imbalance caused him to pass out.
"He had too low potassium and it just really played with him badly and caused an arrhythmia," Miki told Stuff, but that all signs were pointing to a full recovery.
"He's feeling better. He's had another blood test and all his numbers are looking good… He's on a good path to feel a lot better and do better. He's still a little panicked, because it was kind of a hard episode that he went through."

It should come as no surprise Aaron Rodgers grew to admire and respect some of his rival competitors on the Chicago Bears throughout his career, but the first name that comes to his mind when talking about his favorites is Brian Urlacher.
The Green Bay Packers quarterback talked about his respect for the Hall of Fame linebacker ahead of Sunday's noon CT kickoff against the Bears at Lambeau Field, describing to reporters how the two have gotten to know each other better in the years since Urlacher retired.
"I like him a lot more now that he's not sacking me or picking me off," Rodgers joked Thursday. "He got me a couple of times. I did tackle him one time, though, but it wasn't much of a tackle."
Rodgers also talked about one of the more hilarious moments from their time as competitors, specifically the Packers' home game against the Bears on Sept. 13, 2019, when Urlacher had a not-so-family-friendly way of countering Rodgers in their "chess match of check-recheck."
"Every time I checked, he checked to something, and the checks he was saying we super inappropriate," Rodgers recalled. "I think it was pre the micing up of the guards where every single word was heard because I promise you, if that had happened today, some of that stuff would've had to have gotten bleeped out."
Urlacher has said similar things about his back-and-forth with Rodgers, whom the five-time All-Pro considers the toughest opponent he faced during his 13-season career. He talked about some of the strategies and words the Bears defense would do to prepare for him during an appearance on The Dan Patrick Show in 2018.
"We had some words on defense for our checks because he knew our checks. We played him twice a year, we'd have some words for our stunts on defense that we'd have to change every week because of him and their offensive line," Urlacher said. "They aren't curse words, but they're words that I probably shouldn't say on TV or radio."

RODGERS ALSO PRAISES CURRENT BEARS LINEBACKER
Much to their discontent, the Bears will be trying to upend the Packers on the road without star linebacker Roquan Smith, but Rodgers isn't treating it as an advantage for Sunday's matchup with another linebacker drawing his eye on the other side of the line.
"Well, 44, I've always thought he's been a really solid player," Rodgers said of Bears inside linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski. "I don't want to butcher his last name, but he rocked me a couple years ago and I know where 44 is at most times when he is in the game. I have a lot of respect for him and the way he plays, his approach to the game. He's been backing up both Danny (Trevathan) and Roquan this season and he does a helluva job."
Kwiatkoski, who will become a free agent in the upcoming offseason, can be expected to fill a bigger role Sunday at Lambeau Field with both Smith and Trevathan sidelined with injuries. The Bears officially ruled out Trevathan on Friday with an elbow injury.

For the 120th time, Army and Navy will renew acquaintances in one of the nation's most historic and traditional football rivalries. The Black Knights have retaken control of this series, winning the last three meetings after losing 14 straight to the Midshipmen from 2002 through 2015. That was the longest winning streak in the history of the rivalry dating back to 1890.
With a win on Saturday, Navy can clinch the Commander-in-Chief Trophy as the best service academy team. The Midshipmen defeated Air Force 34-25 earlier this season. Army has won the title each of the last two seasons. Army is coming off 52-31 defeat at Hawai'i last Saturday and will finish with a sub-.500 record since 2015. Navy leads the all-time series over Army 60-52-7.
ESPN's FPI gives Navy a 75.6% chance of winning this game. We break down the line and offer our best bets and analysis for Saturday's rivalry matchup between the Midshipmen and Black Knights.

* Navy is 9-2 SU and 8-3 ATS this season
* Over is 6-5-1 in Army games this season
* Over is 7-4 in Navy games this season
-------------------------
ANALYSIS & PICK
The under in this game has cashed 13 straight times, but the books have finally adjusted. The average total for the previous 13 matchups was 50, almost 10 full points higher than this year's total of 40.5. Army and Navy sport the nation's top two rushing offenses, which should keep the clock moving for the most part, but considering how low this number is, that shouldn't matter. Navy has scored 91 points in the last two games and we've seen both defenses get gashed for big plays this season. It's a contrarian pick, but this year's total is an over adjustment to what the true number should be here. Take the over.
PICK: OVER 40.5
As strange as this sounds, I think Navy's improved passing game could be the difference here. Quarterback Malcolm Perry is completing 54.4% of his passes with six touchdowns this season. While those numbers might not be eye-popping, just the semblance of a passing game can keep defenses off balance when facing the Midshipmen because of their proclivity to run the football. If Perry can get into an early groove through the air, it could be a long day for an Army defense that is very suspect against the pass. Navy wins going away and claims the Commander-in-Chief Trophy for the 16th time in program history.
PICK: NAVY -10.5
